Venue: Dioceses and Parish
Date: 17th - 24th June 2018
Join together for our Global Week of Action, a Global Action Week on migration and the culture of encounter is being organised from Sunday 17 to Sunday 24 June 2018. The Week of Action will revolve around World Refugee Day on Wednesday 20 June.
The purpose of the Global Action Week is to unite our actions and prayer on the issue of migration with a focus on the necessary relationships to shift from a mindset of fear to one of hope.
We wish to see thousands of people engaged with Caritas across the world joining together in action for migrants and refugees. Of all the activities suggested in the campaign Guide to Action, we have picked one, which we think demonstrates the culture of encounter in a tangible and enjoyable way.
We therefore invite every Caritas to organise shared meals with migrants and refugees on or around 20 June 2018.
In addition, you can take further campaign actions as suggested in the Guide to Action or hold a special service on Sunday 17 or Sunday 24 June, maybe in connection with other faith-based organisations, if they wish to do so.
- A webpage to act as a hub for the week, with information about the different Members promoting the Week of Action and links to resources, including a map to sign up for Caritas and non-Caritas organisations taking part (available from late March/early April 2018).
- A promotional flyer with key information about the Week of Action to engage Caritas and other supporting organizations (available from February 2018).
- Specific prayer elements and a common prayer, with contributions from the Members and church leaders (available from March 2018).
The Rome-based campaign team coordinates the Global Action Week with the support of a global working group made up of Caritas representatives from all of the regions of the world. If you have any questions or would like to discuss how you can get involved, please contact the campaign team of Caritas Internationalis at email@example.com.
Thank you for your support!
