Gender and Development (GAD) Programme is based on integrated community development approach. GAD program works as cross cutting theme to ensure gender equity and equality in organizational policies, procedures and in all programs and projects. GAD program creates an enabling environment to flourish the skills of men & Women, ensure it's application in development work and women's socioeconomic empowerment.

Caritas has been in the front line in responding to the current drought facing communities in Kenya, this has been accomplished through local drought appeals by the Bishops aimed at mobilizing Christians and people of good to assist affected communities. Caritas Kenya has also been a key player in promoting peace efforts within East Africa region. In December 2016, Caritas Kenya together with Caritas Uganda, Caritas Ethiopia (Caritas AMECEA Zone) successfully convened a Peace Conference in Kitale under ‘Strengthening the Efforts of the Church for Peace and Development in the Karamoja Cluster’ Programme.
