The Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) issued a local drought emergency appeal on 19th March 2019  directed to all Dioceses, church institutions, Christians and people of good will.

The food Security situation in the country has continued to deteriorate following the poor performance of the 2018 Short Rains and delayed 2019 Long Rains, which are predicted to be below normal.  This may culminate to a major humanitarian crisis in Kenya, hence the need for us to act fast, and in a coordinated way.

We need support from you to amplify the appeal for donations within your respective Dioceses. Up to date, Caritas Kenya has received 398, 763 KES in the MPESA Pay-bill and the bank account.

We kindly request you to circulate information on this appeal within Parishes, Church Institutions, Our Catholic Radio Stations and Social Media platforms.
